Museum of Palaiopois – Mon Repos is located at a distance of 2km from the modern town centre, in the center of the Mon Repos Estate. The Museum is housed in a historic villa, which was built during the British rule in the Ionian Islands, by the Lord High Commisioner Sir Freederic Adam. The permanent exhibition comprises memorabilia of the period of British rule on the ground floor and antiquities from the archaeological site of Palaiopolis on the first floor.
